Before we started, this Kunkletown home had a small, aging elevated deck on wood posts, worn down to the point where it needed a full rebuild rather than a repair.
We built a new 16-by-24 elevated deck on helical pier footings, along with wall sheathing repair where the old ledger connected to the house. The deck is finished in Deckorators Venture composite decking in Sandbar, framed with a single-board picture frame border and matching stair treads and fascia. A white vinyl Wolf railing with black aluminum balusters runs the full perimeter and down the stairs, topped with a wood-tone Deckorators Voyage Khaya cocktail rail between the post caps. Partway through the project, we added under-deck waterproofing and gutters to keep the space below the deck dry.
What was a small, worn deck is now a full-size elevated outdoor space with a clean white-and-black railing pairing and a dry, usable area underneath.
