A Multi-Tier Deck Gets a Fresh Resurface with Built-In Flower Boxes in Orefield, PA
See how we resurfaced this multi-tier deck in Orefield, PA with Deckorators Summit Boulder decking, a black aluminum railing, built-in benches, and flower boxes.

A deck resurface finished with Deckorators Summit Boulder decking, a black aluminum railing, built-in benches, and matching built-in flower boxes.
Before we started, this Orefield property had a multi-tier deck with a natural wood surface and an ornate metal-baluster railing. The layout — two side sections flanking a central staircase down to the paver patio below — was already a strong design, but the surface and railing had aged past the point of a simple refresh.

We resurfaced every section of the deck in Deckorators Summit composite decking in Boulder, framed with a single-board picture frame border and matching stair treads, fascia, and risers. The old railing came out for a black aluminum system on 4-inch white composite posts, and LED lights were set into the main-level stair risers along with wedge lights on the railing posts and flower boxes for evening use.

We also built new benches into the deck and wrapped built-in flower boxes in matching Boulder decking along the railing line, keeping the layout's symmetry while giving the whole space a more finished, tailored look.

What was a dated wood deck is now a fully resurfaced multi-tier outdoor space with built-in seating, planted flower boxes, and lighting that carries the design into the evening.

If your deck's layout still works but the surface and railing have had their day, a resurface like this one can bring the whole design back to life without changing what already works. We'd be glad to take a look at your deck and talk through what that could look like.
