Spacious 14x31 Deck Built with Deckorators Sandbar Decking and Wolf Vinyl Railings

This family in Bangor, PA reached out to Upgryd with a vision: create a durable, beautiful, and elevated outdoor space that not only complemented their modern white home, but maximized the sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. They needed a structure that was as functional as it was visually striking—one that could handle Pennsylvania’s seasonal elements while providing a perfect space for gatherings, dinners, or peaceful morning coffee.

We began with a full structural design to support a 14x31 second-floor deck. Our team framed out the space using pressure-treated lumber with meticulous attention to alignment and load-bearing. We then installed Deckorators Venture Decking in Sandbar, a perfect mid-tone composite that blends naturally with the environment while remaining cool and comfortable underfoot.

For the railing system, we incorporated Wolf white vinyl railings paired with black aluminum balusters, giving the space a crisp, elegant contrast. A standout detail is the Deckorators Voyage Khaya cocktail top rail, adding both visual interest and functional handrail space. We finished the look with white PVC fascia and stair risers that elevate the build’s polish and curb appeal.

The access stairs were custom-built and mirrored the decking material and railings for a seamless look from top to bottom. Every edge, corner, and connection was crafted with longevity in mind. The structure underneath remains open for future utility use or potential patio build-outs—leaving the clients with options for future outdoor enhancements.

What excited our client the most was the scale and presence of the new deck. The elevation provides uninterrupted views and makes a bold architectural statement. The cocktail top quickly became the favorite “drink spot” during sunset, while the wide layout accommodates everything from outdoor dinners to weekend lounging.
