We Resurface Decks Year-Round – Even in Winter!

We Don’t Just Build Decks—We Set the Standard
At Upgryd, we believe your deck should do more than meet expectations—it should exceed them for decades to come. That’s why we use premium materials, modern building techniques, and a detail-driven process to build and resurface decks that are made to outperform, outlast, and outshine. From composite deck installations to full wood deck renovations, every project is handled with precision and pride.
As one of Pennsylvania’s leading deck contractors, we’re committed to delivering long-term value, elevated aesthetics, and structural excellence on every build. Here’s what makes an Upgryd deck truly different:

We Don’t Use What’s Common—We Use What’s Best.
Most builders use #2 UC4A lumber or lower grades, which rots and decays faster in high-moisture conditions. We exclusively use #1 UC4B Critical Structure lumber, engineered for maximum durability and long-term stability.

More Than Just a Finishing Touch—It’s Protection.
Unlike other builders who skip this critical step, we install picture framing on every deck to prevent water damage, rot, and separation between the fascia board and rim joist. This isn’t just about aesthetics—it reinforces the deck’s structure and extends its lifespan.

Stronger Railings, Built to Last.
Most builders use pressure-treated 4x4 wood posts, which warp, twist, and loosen over time—compromising the safety and look of your deck. We use aluminum structural surface-mounted posts for maximum durability, zero warping, and a sleek, modern finish.

Protecting Your Home Before Problems Start.
Many builders skip flashing tape, exposing your home to hidden moisture damage that leads to rot and decay. We install butyl flashing tape between the deck ledger board and your home’s sheathing, creating a watertight barrier that protects your home’s structure.

We Prevent Frame Rot Before It Happens.
Deck frames are constantly exposed to moisture, especially where joists are close together. We apply butyl joist tape beneath the picture frame, stopping standing water from pooling and causing premature rot.

A Strong Deck Means Strong Stairs.
Without protection, stair frames decay faster due to trapped moisture. We install butyl joist tape under the step picture frame, preventing freezing, rotting, and instability—ensuring your stairs are as strong as the deck itself.
Worn, Unsafe, or Unattractive Deck
Does this sound familiar?
- Unsafe Conditions:Your deck is falling apart, there are holes in the surface or the railings are loose. Your afraid your kids or family or friends will get hurt.
- Cracked or Splintered Boards:Your deck boards are splitting, making the deck unsafe to walk on, especially barefoot.
- Warped or Bowing Boards:Your deck boards are bending, creating uneven surfaces and potential tripping hazards.
- Rotting Decking or Railings:Moisture has caused your wood decking or railings to decay, compromising your deck’s integrity.
- Poor Aesthetic Appeal:Your deck is ugly, it's falling apart and your embarrassed to have friends or family over.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are composite and PVC materials really worth the investment?
Yes! These materials are durable, long-lasting, and low-maintenance, saving you money on repairs and upkeep over time. Plus, they resist fading, splintering, and weather damage, keeping your deck beautiful for up to 50-years.
What happens if my deck’s structure needs repairs?
We have a percentage of frame repairs already included in our pricing based upon the countless decks we have resurfaced. If we find issues with your deck’s structure during the inspection, we’ll let you know and provide options for repair. We won’t resurface a deck unless we make it safe and secure first.
I’ve heard composite materials can get hot in the sun. Is that true?
Some composite materials can retain heat, but we offer options designed to stay cooler underfoot. During your consultation, we’ll help you choose the best material for your needs.
